In this project I collaborated with my dad, photojournalist Howard Davies. Despite having an obvious familiarity with his work, I knew very little about the events his photographs represent as they would often show places I’ve never been decades before I was born.
This project aimed to give context to his work through an almost interview like format in which I would write down my assumptions about each image, each one suggesting what I think ‘could be’. I sent my assumptions back to Howard and had my notes corrected to depict the truth. The consequence was a trial and error style education about a significant historical event that many of my generation never knew happened.
